How about this ingenious idea for potholes? Springtime would be filled with an array of colors and flowers to brighten your day until all potholes are fixed?

since seeing this, every time I see a pot hole on our road I think of doing this.
I don't think they are going to be fixing our potholes around here anytime soon, so this might be a nice alternative. =)
