I hope everyone had a wounderful Thanksgiving. I for sure felt surrounded by love and very blessed to celebrate the day with my family. Not only was it Thanksgiving it was also my birthday. Mixed feelings on birthday's falling on holidays like this but overall a great day. The night prior I decided a little DIY was in order to make a cute last minute table for family brunch
I really needed better lighting but the sun didn't come out much that day so these pictures are as good as they get. The fun tablecloth is mud cloth handmade from Mali. The turkeys we bought in Memphis years ago and the antlers collected. All kinda of fun memories.
My mom is super crazy talented and crocheted us (at my request) this adorbale Thanksgiving themed hats to wear for the Turkey Trot the CB Y puts on every year. They were so cute and kept us warm. It was fun to run with my brothers this year and have my Aunt, Uncle, and counsins join in the fun.
After the run we had a delicous brunch at my house, eggs fresh from the coop of course played into the meal. Love love love having chickens of my own.
Each person had a napkin holder that had a question on it, some were deeper than others. This was such a great way to really share what we were thankful for and open up conversation among family.
I had made a goal to not drink for 30 days (ended up going for a full 45 instead) as just wanted a break from it. My reward was that I was going to enjoy a great bottle of wine and a warm bath on my birthday after everyone left. Orin Swift is one of my favorite vineyards and this wine did not disappoing (sorry Erik I know I should only like Glazier brands....)
We went to my other Aunt and Uncles for the big Thanksgiving dinner. Luckily for me my mom bought me this gorgeous dress at Anthropology for my birthday and it seemed perfect for the occasion. We really had a great night chatting with family, enjoying delcious food, and excellent wine.
A fun cousins picture that has become a yearly tradition. Missing a few but nice we had the majority together for the holiday.
I truly do feel blessed, Not only did I spend the day surrounded by family, but I was able to run, enjoy several filling meals, all in warm cozy homes, with new clothes. So many out there don't have these same luxuries, so I need to constantly remember to not take any of this for granted and to do what I can to help make the lives of those around me better whenever I can.
