I travel the world and am truly amazed with the sights, cultures, and people but in my eyes there is no place like home.

Snowy Mornings

Somehow a coating of snow makes everything look magical. A few quick Iphone/Instagram pics showcase my backyard yesterday morning with a blanket of snow.

Frosty

The massive snow storm forecasted for Niobrara never occurred. I was a lil bummed I didn't get a winter wonderland.

However, Sunday afternoon a layer of frost was covering the trees and hills. It was gorgeous.

Little slivers of ice covered everything.

I caught a glimpse of myself after one stop along the road to capture a pretty view and had to laugh.

Council Bluffs is coated in a gorgeous blanket of snow - I need to snap pictures before it melts away. On a positive note I think I have finally gotten rid of my nasty cough/cold and have re-entered society.

Old Man Winter

Needs to leave town! These negative digits made even worse with the wind chill (-28 today) are downright miserable!

Not sure how much longer my body can handle this freezer! I need to thaw out! Good thing a tropical vaca is in the works for March!

Heat Wave

It’s a full on tropical climate without the beauty of the ocean. It is 87 degrees (high expected is 94) today with a heat index of 105. Ugh! It seriously feels like a steam room outside. Sitting through CWS baseball is full out torture. Running outside seems near impossible. It was hot in Kuwait, real hot, like 140 degrees hot. But it was a dry heat and believe it or not I would take 140 over this humidity any day. This is the first summer I have been home in five years and its amazing how quickly you forget – I don’t remember humidity being this brutal. Usually high 80’s or low 90’s would be my favorite temperature but not so much at the moment. At least my skin feels soft. Makes me want to lounge by the pool in a bikini with a cool drink. I miss the C Club!

It feels like we live in the Artic

It was 9 degrees out on my way to work this morning. I had to walk maybe a block from the parking garage to the office and I thought I was going to receive frost bite. It was down right miserable. Why do people choose to live in the Midwest? Honestly this is just not acceptable. Every outing requires a coat, scarf, mittens, hat, etc… Even Aeisha doesn’t like it outside.

As I was leaving the Y at the crack of dawn a signal came on stating I had a low tire, there was no way I was stopping to air up a tire in the cold. I am hoping I don’t have a flat tire this afternoon! I miss the desert weather I truly do. Rumor has it today it was high 80’s there…
