April Showers bring May Flowers

Yesterday was rainy – but I’ll take a little rain this spring if it means gorgeous green lawns and lots of flowers! I have a few unexpected flowers sprouting from the ground.

Now blooming and looking so pretty. A bonus when flowers pop up in unexpected places!



And because I am way too impatient to wait for summer (or later this Spring) for really pretty flowers I went on a bit of a flower buying binge at Wally World last weekend.


So much better to be graced each morning and night with flowers instead of pots of dirt!


Pretty sure I am not alone in my quest for blooms!

Some Beach...

It’s a little gloomy out today so I am definitely daydreaming of our glorious time in Playa Del Carmen, MX.



I love lounging by the water.



Love walking on the beach - especially towards the end of the day.







Someday I hope to own a small house or condo on a beach somewhere so I can escape the brutal Midwest winters !


Until then I will just have to look at photos and reminisce about how great the beach really is.

Mayan Ruins – Tulum, Mexico

We ventured to the Mayan Ruins in Tulum (also known as Zama, meaning City of Dawn because it faces the sunrise) during our last day in Mexico. It started off WAY too tour group for my liking….

But once we broke away from the group and explored on our own it was quite interesting.


Some of the views were gorgeous and breathtaking.




Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans, it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Old World diseases brought by the Spanish settlers appear to have been the cause of its demise.






Kudos to the Mayans for picking such a gorgeous spot to set up their homestead.

Running feels like Vacation on the Beach

I enjoy running, but when I have the opportunity to run on the beach or in the country then I LOVE running.

It’s so relaxing and peaceful.

And a chance to take in the sights, enjoy your surroundings.


In Mexico I loved waking up a lil early every morning to venture out on an easy 3-4 mile run along the beach.
