I travel the world and am truly amazed with the sights, cultures, and people but in my eyes there is no place like home.

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for so many things I could never list them all on this lil blog. To name just a few I am thankful for my amazing family.

For my kitty Aeisha

For my wonderful and fun friends.

For a roof(s) over my head

For food in my mouth (sadly borrowed this photo from a blog and don't remember where? Wish my Thanksgiving table was this pretty!).
I am thankful for freedom and the opportunity to be anything I want to be with hard work and perseverance.

I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving, takes time to thank all of those who are serving overseas, and to be thankful of all the great things in your lives.

Best Concert Eva

This was by far the best concert I have been to in the last several years (well CanFest wins out for the fun factor...).

Lady Antebellum did not disappoint. I loved every single minute of their concert. They were amazing!!

For starters it was at the Orpheum which is my all time favorite venue in Omaha as so insanely gorgeous and so much history, and we had very good/close seats as you can tell from this photo (no zoom used).

And I was with my wonderful family (and pseudo family Mike & Cathi)

Opening act was David Neal

He did a great job. Then came Lady A.

So talented and such great performers.

They put on an amazing show. With a little entertainment mixed in such as these Bees during American Honey.

Not only were the vocals out of this world so were the strings.

If you ever have the opportunity to see Lady A in concert run don’t walk!
*Sorry these photos aren't the best - I took my old camera as last time was told "Professional" cameras aren't allowed. Of course this time no one checked. Darn.

Totten Tigers

Just finished our weigh-in at work for the “Hold the Holiday’s” Challenge. Three of my coworkers in Office of Counsel and I formed the “Totten Tigers” team. Our boss’s last name is Totten, the Tigers part is an inside joke. The goal is to not gain weight as a team from today until the 7th of January. Bonus points are awarded if you actually lose weight. Our team weighed in at 903 lbs. Yikes! I know I need to loose a bit of weight as have struggled lately. So hopefully this will motivate me to put in a few extra miles each day and eat a lil healthier. Sadly, to prepare for our weigh-in the TT decided to gorge ourselves on pizza and soda in hopes of increasing our starting weight a bit to add some flex. Is this horribly wrong?

Can we still do Crafts with no Kids?

I just saw this very fun and cute Thanksgiving craft on Say Yes to Hoboken blog. You make necklaces out of Indian Corn. How fun!!

Sadly there are currently no children in our family as my siblings and I have yet to reproduce. Sorry mom and dad! Would it be acceptable for all the “big” kids to make this craft?

Lets Goooooo Chiefs!!!!

The Chiefs game was perfect. We had gorgeous weather and didn’t even end up needing a coat! How amazing is that for the Midwest mid November. Things started off with a very fun tailgate with friends.

Then our group moved inside to cheer as loud as we could for the Chiefs.

They renovated the stadium this year and had the coolest place called a “Hot Zone” right insdie the stadium. There were heaters set up and a great band playing before the game started.

Every time the Chiefs scored Paint came prancing out onto the field with the flag – cheesy to admit but this may have been my favorite part of the game!

I need a horse people! Such a great day and can’t wait for the next Chief’s game.

Sooooooo Ready for the Weekend!

Is it sad that this feels like the longest week ever as I actually have to work five days?! Government holidays are in full swing this time of year, so last week turned into a 3 day week as will next week – making this full week brutal. Rough I know. Anyway the real reason I am excited for the weekend is because we get to see these guys tonight!!

At the Orpheum which is my fav place in Omaha for plays or concerts (I danced there as a little girl!). I am going with my favorite country peeps.

And tomorrow I am heading to Kansas City with my favorite Chiefs fans for a little football!!

I love weekends with fun plans!

Pick Your Favorite Cow

I want to have one of these photos enlarged and printed on a canvas for the blank wall above the couch at our cabin.

But can’t decide which I like better so please vote on your favorite. Any suggestions for the best company to print photos onto canvas? Or is this a bad idea all together? Or should I have it made into a painting?

The magic of Paint

Nothing like a little paint and elbow grease to make a house feel like a home. Last weekend my mother and I logged many hours (and many laughs at our gracefulness or lack thereof) painting several rooms at our cabin. I am in love with the living room – the color is exactly what I wanted. We went from this:

To this:

Now just need accessories – artwork, pillows, etc….Hoping to add several key pieces over Thanksgiving. Also on the agenda was the entry, hallway, family room, and kitchen. More photos to come later but as a sneak peak we went from this:

(photo with previous owner's stuff)
To this:

Again need accessories but a great start. I am not in love with the green. Was hoping for more khaki less green but it feels warm and looks great. Much much better than the dingy yellow/ivory/whatever color that was there before (you can see a glimpse of the color in the sunroom).
